Markers of activated coagulation in acute coronary syndromes.

چکیده
dentification of potentially useful bloodborne markers in cute coronary syndromes (ACS) is steadily increasing. The linical applications range from prediction and prognosis to efinition and diagnosis. In the center of the markers stand he myocardial proteins and enzymes, because their presence n the circulation reflects myocardial damage and myocyte eath (1). Their concentrations mirror the myocardial lesion ize and, accordingly, provide information on the following rognosis. At the other end of the concentration scale are mproved and sensitive methods that may provide new insight nto the clinical relevance of even very low concentrations. or the individual patient, the concentrations therefore uide therapy directly (diagnosis) and indirectly (risk).

Introduction & Objective: Ischemic injury of endothelium is associated with prostaglandin synthesis and platelet adhesion and aggregation, which may be associated with the release of aldehydes such as malondialdehyde (MDA). C-reactive protein and cardiac troponin I have been proposed as diagnostic markers of acute coronary syndromes. In this study, we compared the usefulness of plasma MDA as a ...
متن کاملActivation markers of coagulation and fibrinolysis: alterations and predictive value in acute coronary syndromes.
Several alterations of the coagulation, of the fibrinolysis and of inflammation are known in patients with acute coronary syndromes. To extent current knowledge of the pathophysiology and to optimize therapeutical strategies, the new molecular markers can be used in clinical studies. Furthermore, several studies were undertaken to assess the prognostic value of activation markers of these syste...
متن کاملPrognostic value of C-Reactive Protein in Acute Coronary Syndromes
Introduction: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is among the most common, serious, chronic and life- threatening illnesses in the world. CAD represents a spectrum of conditions, with acute myocardial infarction at one end of it and silent ischemia at the other. There is growing evidence on importance of prognosis of C- reactive protein (CPR) in unstable angina and this protein is a maker of an adve...
متن کاملCholesterol reduction rapidly improves endothelial function after acute coronary syndromes. The RECIFE (reduction of cholesterol in ischemia and function of the endothelium) trial.
BACKGROUND Cholesterol lowering reduces coronary events. One mechanism could be improvement of endothelial function. In line with this hypothesis, this study investigates whether cholesterol reduction can result in rapid improvement of endothelial function after acute coronary syndromes. METHODS AND RESULTS Patients with acute myocardial infarction or unstable angina and total cholesterol lev...

Thrombus formation is critical in the pathogenesis of coronary artery disease, and faster clotting speed as measured by activated partial thromboplastin time (aPTT) has been associated with recurrent cardiovascular events in acute coronary syndrome (ACS) patients [2]. Only two small studies have investigated the association of PTSD with markers of coagulation. One case–control study (N = 14 PTS...
